Folks Project – Earshot Jazz Festival

Folks — D’Vonne Lewis (drums), Darrius Willrich (keys), and Evan Flory-Barnes (bass), tribute the long history of music culture of Seattle’s Central District as they build on the legacy of artists like Quincy Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Ernestine Anderson, Floyd Standifer, Buddy Catlett, and Sir Mix-A-Lot.

The concert starts at 7:30PM with a panel discussion on musicians and contemporary influences, moderated by Dr. James Gore.

Co-presented with Dr. James Gore and Jackson Street Music Program.

About Earshot Jazz Festival

Formed in 1984, Earshot Jazz supports the growing community of jazz artists and audiences in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. With over fifty events across the city, the festival celebrates the art form’s leading edges and cultural heritage. For 33 days, jazz greats from around the world and our renowned resident artists create, share, improvise, explore, collaborate, and swing.
