Tyron Asphy, founder of Japan-American Butokukan Karate Association, has returned to the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute, where he taught classes over 40 years ago.
Tyrone works with five instructors to offer martial arts classes to students ages 7 and older. His commitment to bringing access to discipline, flexibility, and self-defense to Central District youth and neighbors across generations is invaluable to our community’s overall health and well-being.
We highly suggest that students come with a refillable water bottle and a snack, rested and well-fed, and bring anything else they need to participate in the class safely.
