Call for SBFF Volunteers
We need your help to create an unforgettable experience! This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with the community, support diverse filmmakers, and enjoy an array of inspiring films.
Who can apply: Anyone 18+ committed to strengthening and advancing the Black community. Must apply by April 13.
Greeters
Welcoming guests and directing them as needed. For example, making sure people know where the restrooms and water fountains are.
Box Office
Assisting Event Staff with signing in/registering attendees.
Ushers
Assisting guests to their seats and maintaining order during the event.
Street Team
Going around designated areas in the greater Seattle area to hang up posters and distribute flyers for event promotion, with a provided list of specific locations, venues, and businesses.
Set Up
Helping with event setup, including arranging chairs, tables, and tablecloths.
Clean Up
Helping with post-event clean-up and resetting the space (putting away chairs, tables, sweeping, handling garbage, etc.).
Food Bussers
Collecting plates and cleaning tables during the event.
Screeners
Watching submitted films to Seattle Black Film Festival and assisting in creating the official selection.
Jurors
Watching and voting on films in Seattle Black Film Festival’s official selection to win the jury category awards.
Setup and Breakdown / Runners
Assist with setting up and breaking down venues, and run errands as needed. *The ability to move about the space and climb up and down stairs required.
* The ability to lift up to 70 lbs repeatedly required.
