Michael J. Peterson is an operations leader, real estate professional, entrepreneur, and arts-rooted community builder. Born and raised in Southern California as a first-generation American, traversing a multitude of challenges, he made the decision that the circumstances he was born into would not define the height to which he could rise.

The arts became one of Michael’s earliest vehicles for expression and healing. He studied trumpet, clarinet, violin, and voice, later joining the renowned Westlake High School Choir, where he performed in musicals, served as dance captain, and balanced his artistic life with varsity football. After receiving a full scholarship to the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, Michael moved to Los Angeles and began working in the entertainment industry, appearing in projects including The Middle, Glee, Mobbed, films, video games, and commercial work.

He has led large-scale fundraising campaigns across Los Angeles, mobilizing over 100 volunteers for Mercy Worldwide, and served as Director of Business Development for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. His mentorship work in South Los Angeles has focused on young men and women of color from underserved, gang-impacted communities, where he helped teach financial literacy, interview skills, resume building, and other tools for independence and success.

As a Washington State Real Estate Broker, his professional path expanded through real estate, operations, and asset management. He has overseen large multifamily, mixed-use, and commercial assets valued at over $60 million, including more than 350 residential units, multiple million-dollar commercial assets, construction projects, and luxury short-term rentals.

This experience led Michael to his role as Director of Operations for the Cultural Space Agency, where his background in real estate, systems-building, financial management, and operational strategy aligns with work centered on cultural preservation, equitable access, and long-term community ownership.

Across every chapter of his journey, Michael remains grounded in service, resilience, and transformation. Whether mentoring youth, building operational systems, supporting cultural space, or developing community-rooted business infrastructure, he brings heart, discipline, and a deep commitment to helping others rise, build, and leave the world better than they found it.
