We need volunteers for Seattle Black Nerd Fest!
When you volunteer at SBNF, you’ll steward a space for Black people of all ages, connect with passionate attendees, and receive a t-shirt and snacks (plus some fun surprises). All shifts are 5 hours or less with time to enjoy the festival. Learn more >

Roles
Here are some of the roles, duties, and guidelines you can expect when joining the LANGSTON volunteer team. Volunteer roles vary depending on the programming.
Box Office
Assisting Event Staff with signing in/registering attendees.
Ushers
Assisting guests to their seats and maintaining order during the event.
Street Team
Going around designated areas in the greater Seattle area to hang up posters and distribute flyers for event promotion, with a provided list of specific locations, venues, and businesses.
Set Up
Helping with event setup, including arranging chairs, tables, and tablecloths.
Clean Up
Helping with post-event clean-up and resetting the space (putting away chairs, tables, sweeping, handling garbage, etc.).
Food Bussers
Collecting plates and cleaning tables during the event.
Screeners
Watching submitted films to Seattle Black Film Festival and assisting in creating the official selection.
Jurors
Watching and voting on films in Seattle Black Film Festival’s official selection to win the jury category awards.
